Medication Refill Policy

How established patients request refills, expected timelines, and when a follow-up visit is required.

Medication refill policy

Medication refills are provided only for established patients with an active treatment relationship and a recent clinical evaluation as required by law and good practice.

We do not prescribe controlled substances or new medications without an appropriate telehealth visit and clinical assessment.

How to request a refill

  • Use your patient portal or contact our office during business hours — not the emergency contact form.
  • Allow at least 48–72 business hours for non-urgent refill requests.
  • Include medication name, dose, pharmacy name and phone number, and any changes in symptoms.
  • Attend follow-up visits as scheduled — refills may be delayed if you are overdue for monitoring.

What we cannot do

  • Same-day refills for controlled substances or when you are overdue for follow-up.
  • Refills for patients we have not evaluated or who are not active in our practice.
  • Emergency prescriptions via email or unsecure messaging.

Urgent medication concerns

If you are out of critical medication and experiencing withdrawal or worsening symptoms, call our office. If this is a medical emergency, call 911.

For mental health crisis, call or text 988.
