Mindful Healing Mental Health Services

What Is the No Surprises Act?

The No Surprises Act is a federal law effective January 1, 2022. It protects patients from certain unexpected medical bills and requires price transparency for uninsured and self-pay patients.

Mindful Healing Mental Health Services complies with the No Surprises Act. We provide clear information about expected costs before care begins whenever required by law.

Who This Applies To

Good Faith Estimate requirements apply to patients who are uninsured or who choose not to use health insurance for a scheduled service (self-pay).

If you are using insurance, we will verify benefits and explain expected copays, deductibles, and coinsurance before your visit when possible.

Good Faith Estimate — Summary

A Good Faith Estimate lists expected charges for your scheduled psychiatric services and related items or services that are reasonably expected — such as an initial evaluation or follow-up visits included in the estimate.

For full details on how to request a GFE, what it includes, and timelines, see our dedicated Good Faith Estimate page.

How to Request a Good Faith Estimate

Email info@mindfulhealingmentalservices.com, call +1 (347) 506-3881, or use our contact page and select "Insurance / fees question."

Include your name, preferred contact method, the service you are scheduling (for example, initial psychiatric evaluation), and whether you are uninsured or self-pay.

We will provide your GFE within 1 business day if your appointment is scheduled at least 3 days in advance, or within 3 business days if scheduled at least 10 days in advance. You may also request a GFE at any time before care.

Billing Disputes & Contact

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill.

Step 1 — Contact our office first: info@mindfulhealingmentalservices.com or +1 (347) 506-3881. Many discrepancies are resolved directly.

Step 2 — If unresolved, you may start the federal independent dispute resolution (IDR) process. Learn more at cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.

Step 3 — An independent reviewer determines the appropriate payment. You are not charged a fee to use the federal IDR process for eligible disputes.

Our Commitment

We will provide a Good Faith Estimate before scheduled self-pay or uninsured appointments as required by law.

We will explain your financial responsibility in understandable language before treatment begins.

We will not bill you more than your GFE without your informed consent, except in limited circumstances permitted by federal rules.
